Data-driven campaigns versus classic campaigns

What’s the difference between a data-driven campaign and a classic campaign? Which is best for your organization?

A classic marketing campaign has a completely different angle and approach. In a data-driven campaign the primary focus is on the product or service’s qualities and its target audience, whereas in a classic campaign the focus of attention is mainly cost. It is often initiated with a set of presumptions and goals. Throughout the campaign, there will be a focus on maximum conversion with the lowest possible Cost per Click (CPC). We refer to this strategy as “inside-out thinking”. The product’s value and customer’s needs are subordinate to volume and cost. This will deliver inferior long-term results, both in terms of conversion and quality.

Obviously, a maximum conversion with a low CPC are equally important in a data-driven campaign. We continiously pay attention on achieving this. However we do not focus on lowering costs, but on improving data quality as this will eventually lead to a lower campaign cost. A data-driven campaign is of iterative nature with a completely different focus.
